I married into a wonderful family! They all are loving, caring, and I see the love of Christ in each of them. My father in law is a carpenter.  He has made such wonderful things! For the past  4 years, he has made each of the kids a gift. This year he made this plaque, hand carved. It's beautiful! Also a great verse to ponder on. We as children of Christ, should bear one another's burdens, care for one another, love and just be there for each other. Something I'm hoping to do more of in this new year.

My hubby's family is from Holland. He still have lots of family there. We send Christmas cards to Lieke, which she always sends us such wonderful Holland cards. This year she sent me this beautiful pouch. She made it herself. I love to crochet, but I use the heavy yarn, I have never tried using this thin thread. My great-grandma Lola used this thin thread, making all kinds of things everyday. I love the detail of this, Had to make it my picture of the day!

Today is my little brother's birthday! Happy Birthday Eric!! I love you very much!! Also on December 28, my hubby proposed to me. It's a funny story. We had dinner for my brother's birthday and my hubby wanted to take me to see the lights at Griffith Observatory. When we got there, I saw that there was a laser show going on with the music of Pink Floyd. I made him take me to see it, even though he was there to propose overlooking L.A. So he was sweating the whole time we were in the show. After the show, he wanted to go look out over L.A. I was said no, let's go. I was tired that day since I had to work. He got me to go and then he propose to me. I was surprised and shock and excited all at once! It's a great story to tell our kids how dad had to sweat it out until he could propose :)

Today's picture has nothing to do with the story, just that we are trying to eat healthier after the holidays :)

I'll say it again, I LOVE baking and cooking. I started this tradition last year to make Monkey bread for Christmas morning. I serve it as our breakfast. Since Christmas is on Sunday this year, I won't have time to make it in the morning, since we have church, so I made it today instead. It's the yummiest!!! Had to make it my picture of the day!

Years ago I use to go with my friend Jenny to Stats after Christmas sale. They have the best garlands and best Christmas decor. I really love the garlands I picked up. I use them on our stairs. Every year I change up the ribbon and picks. Today's picture is of my said garland :) Poinsettia is the theme this year!

Years ago at my old church, our women's bible study did a Christmas ornament exchange. We played it like the white elephant game, but with ornaments. This was the best ornament I got from many ornament exchanges. It's a snowman, he opens up at his tummy and inside there are ice skaters that skate around a snowman. It plays Winter Wonderland. Very cute, made it my picture of the day :)

Today was a great day....tiring but good. My dad and I took a class on making tamales.  That was 3 years ago. We haven't tried to make them...until today! They came out great and it's now a tradition for us to get together and make tamales. Still cooking the last batch of them!  Today's pic was before we cooked them :)

Got our tree today!!! Held out as long as I could :) We went to a local tree lot instead of Home Depot and found a great tree, HUGE and not a bad price. I think it's going to be a tradition to buy our tree there. I like helping out small business :) I took this picture as the tree was on top of the car. It's the very tip of the tree!

Last month before Thanksgiving, the stores were selling Christmas decorations. I didn't even want to think about Christmas yet, but I gave in and bought some red snowflakes. I love added ornaments or even snowflakes to pictures or items I have around the house. Turning an item or picture and adding some Christmas spice to it :) 

In my dinning room, I have the word JOY across the wall between my two candle sconces. They are painted gold, but they were missing something. I added the red snowflakes on the corners of each of the wood letters. Came out cute. Today's picture is of the snowflakes that are on the letters. But I wanted to capture the shadow :)

Today was a good day! I wrapped gifts and watched this classic movie called Giant. Elizabeth Taylor, Rock hudson and James Dean were the main stars. I didn't realize it was three and a half hours long, but it was really good. It filled the time of wrapping all the gifts :)

I love hanging up ornaments not only on the tree but added them to items I have around the house. In my guest bathroom, I have a snowflake theme. Today's picture captures my ornament hanging in front of the bathroom mirror.

What a night and day too! The wind here in California has been so crazy!!! Lot of people without power, trees everywhere, it's a nightmare. We got a few branches from the neighbors tree and a TON of leaves all over the place. Nothing to serious, feeling bad for those that probably got worse.

I really felt like baking today, one of my joys :) My yummy cookie made my pic of the day :)
